Colourful Imagination

Ruskin Bond has written splendid stories that have mesmerized readers of all ages. The Room of Many Colours: A Treasury of Stories for Children is one of his collections of fine tales for children.

Take Mani's Granny, who would not go to the eye hospital unless Mani comes with her; or Ranji, whose one-rupee coin goes a long way. In other stories, the narrator goes on a cycle ride to his home one evening when he meets two peculiar kids; a wise beggar who asks a startling question; and in the title story, the narrator meets a rani where unusual things happen around her. All these tales have a deep connection with the readers and enchant them with countless thoughts in all different directions.

Filled with admirable illustrations and a wide cast of characters, this book is definitely for young and old with unusual insights and perspectives.
